A Transcarpathian received the title of “Honorary Citizen of Korosten” (PHOTOS)

In Svalyava there is a man, whose name in the 70’s was known to every orienteer of Ukraine, who was feared but respected by rivals, loved and adored by students. Today it’s hard to believe, but thanks to Transcarpathian Yuri Turyanytsya – a teacher and a coach from a small town of Korosten – the team of Zhytomyr region competed on equal terms with teams of Kyiv, Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk, nine of his students have become masters of sports of the USSR in orienteering, were in the USSR national team, gained a lot of big victories on the national and international competitions.

Given the significant contribution of Yuri Turyanytsya in the development of education of Korosten, training and teaching of young people, for many years of hard work and an active social position, by the decision of the 22th session of Korosten City Council of the VI convocation dd. 19.03.13 No1019, he was awarded the title of "Honorary Citizen of Korosten."
