Mukachevo city and district court sentenced a 27-year-old resident of Mukachevo to four years in prison for 4 cases of robbery and theft. The previously convicted man committed those crimes between March and June this year and was arrested at the scene of the last crime.
Recall that in March this year, the city police investigator under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of Mukachevo opened criminal proceedings into the theft of bicycles from the basement of one of the buildings in the city. Soon, another four criminal proceedings on the facts of open theft of gold jewelry from women were opened. Later, it was found out that all those crimes had been committed by the same person.
He had to wait for the court decision in custody, because a pre-trial restraint in the form of detention had been imposed on him.
In court, the prosecutor presented unequivocal evidence of his guilt, drew attention to the severity and increased social danger of the crime committed and to the fact that the defendant had previously been convicted more than once. Last time he also had been sentenced to 4 years 1 month in prison in 2007 for burglary and robbery, which once again proves the criminal’s reluctance to be rehabilitated, and therefore the prosecutor demanded a real punishment by imprisonment.
Therefore, Mukachevo city and district court upheld the position of the prosecution and sentenced the offender to real punishment – 4 years in prison.
