In the international checkpoint "Uzhgorod" on the Ukrainian-Slovak border, border guards together with customs officers for the third time in a week precluded illegal transportation of cigarettes across the border.
Yesterday, a car "Dodge" driven by a citizen of the Republic of Poland arrived at the border and customs control point "Uzhgorod". The Pole, who was heading to Slovakia, chose the simplified control lane – "green corridor". However, it did not save the man from scrutiny because border guards initiated the in-depth inspection of the vehicle, which was made jointly with representatives of Customs.
During the joint inspection, in the specially made recesses between the interior and the luggage compartment, and in the double bottom of the luggage compartment they found cigarette L & M (red label, blue label) and NZ Black Super Slim of the domestic production with excise stamps of Ukraine. The total number of discovered cigarettes was 408 packs.
Cigarettes were seized in the the established order, their value is being established. The same fate befell the 2004 "Dodge", which was assessed almost at 32,000 UAH.
