Yesterday, June 26, the calligraphic poster exhibition "Word of the Maidan" arrived to Uzhgorod. It was exhibited in the Transcarpathian regional library.
The project "Outdoor museum of calligraphic posters "Maidan 2014" was launched on the Maidan in early April. The exhibition features calligraphic posters based on aphorisms and quotations of famous people: Ivan Franko, Taras Shevchenko, Oleksandr Dovzhenko, etc…
The authors of the works are students and teachers of the Kyiv State Institute of Decorative and Applied Art and Design. The ideological mentor of the initiative was Oleksandr Mikula – a lecturer of the "Graphic Design" department. The organizer of the project was a student from Ivano-Frankivsk Taras Makar. And the organizer in Uzhgorod was the project participant Tetyana Voynalovych who is a student of this institute.
"These paintings have become a part of the Maidan, as for a long time they were on Instytutska street in Kyiv, – the exhibition coordinator T. Deyak said. – Until May, they were near the House of Trade Unions, and then students decided to show their works throughout Ukraine. The exhibition has visited Ivano-Frankivsk, then it will go to the East. It consists of approximately 20 unique pictures. Students made their works at their own expense. The cost of a single picture is about 60 UAH. First, they do a sketch, then it’s scanned and reproduced by various software Paint, etc., and then it is printed on the printing machine."
In the regional center of Transcarpathia, the exhibition will be on display for several days, and then it will set off on a journey throughout Ukraine.
