A pedophile father, because of whom a boy committed suicide, was sentenced to 10 years in prison – not agreeing with the sentence, the prosecutors are preparing an appeal

Recently, Uzhgorod City and District Court passed the sentence against an Uzhgorod resident – 10 years in prison for sexually molesting his young son, which resulted in the suicide of the child.

 Two years ago, 10-year-old boy jumped from the roof of a nine-storey building in Uzhgorod and died.  

 Later, during the forensic examination, in addition to injuries received from a fall from the roof, which led to the death of the child, they also found injuries typical of rape.

 The boy’s own father – a 41-year-old resident of Uzhgorod – was reasonably suspected of committing this heinous crime. In addition, he had already been tried for corruption of a minor son and step-daughter, and the sentence – 2 years in prison – entered into force back on October 23, 2012.

 The prosecutor Irina Popovich, who supported public prosecution, fully proved the guilt in the rape of his own son and bringing him to suicide. Although the father did not plead guilty, the panel of judges passed the sentence – 10 years in prison.However, the prosecution believes that this is a mild sentence and is already preparing an appeal.
