March 9, Transcarpathian Kyokushin-kan karate fighters represented Ukraine at the 6th German Open Championship, which was held in Berlin. The tournament was attended by representatives of six countries – Ukraine, Belarus, Serbia, Bulgaria, Russia and Germany. Overall – 170 participants from 27 teams.
The team of Transcarpathia, which was the only representative from Ukraine, consisted of some of the most talented athletes of the region. In particular, the champion of the tournament, 8-year-old athlete from Mukachevo district Sandor Sabov impressed everyone in the final fight. He defeated the enemy in 21 seconds – it was the quickest match of the tournament.
Shimon Adam from Beregovo and Mykhailo Voroniak won the 3rd place in their age categories.
All the winners were awarded with cups, medals, diplomas and prizes. The organization of the tournament and fights were at the highest level, so for the next, the 7th German Open Championship, they are going to send more athletes. And the prizes have become a stimulus for all the athletes of the club, so they immediately began to prepare for the next competition.
