The joint patrols practiced at the Ukrainian-Slovak border yielded results: through joint measures and coordinated efforts, Ukrainian and Slovak border guards managed to detain offenders who were trying to illegally cross the border.
The film titled “Kino” (accent on the first syllable) tells about the history of movies that were filmed in the modern Transcarpathia from the birth of the cinema to the present days. Recently, there was the premiere of this documentary, which presents the most cinematic region of our country. The film was presented by its author Oleksiy Umansky. The rich history of the region: it having been a part of Austria-Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Carpathian Ukraine, Ukrainian SSR and the Independent Ukraine left many cinematic traces on cities and people of the Carpathian region. In addition, the local landscape and architecture, attracted to Transcarpathia even foreign filmmakers.
Transcarpathian regional organization of the Society for promoting defense of Ukraine in cooperation with Uzhgorod City Military Commissariat, Uzhgorod National University and the NGO “Public convention” is planning a number of military-patriotic and educational activities:
On the eve of the beautiful holiday for women – 8 March, in the city library, there was a workshop on making of flowers and cards for mothers, grandmothers, sisters. Master of embroidery Tetyana Zavodyak once again gathered fans of this art form in Uzhgorod city library. On the eve of the holiday, everyone had an opportunity to make gifts. State Border Guard Service of Ukraine in close cooperation with European law enforcement agencies of the countries bordering with Ukraine continues to take operational measures to counter illegal activities at the state border. One of the latest example of this cooperation is this detention in Transcarpathia, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine informs. Yesterday, border guards of the Mukachevo Detachment together with Romanian colleagues prevented an attempt of cross-border trafficking of tobacco products.
