Kiosk dominance in Uzhgorod (PHOTOS)

03.02.2015

In addition to unfinished and abandoned “phantom” buildings, the appearance of Uzhgorod is rather heavily spoiled by various kinds of small architectural forms or kiosks. They not only look as foreign objects in once harmonious “body” of city streets, but, sometimes, “steal” from us a very important part of urban space – sidewalks and green areas.

A vivid example of that is the coffee shop “Medellin” on Nezalezhnist embankment, near the hotly debated on the Internet construction site. This wooden structure not only does not fit in the architectural ensemble of the street, but also takes up a significant chunk of the sidewalk.

Right Sector of Transcarpathia reported on another provocation against them (PHOTOS)

03.02.2015

This was announced by the spokesman to the Right Sector of Transcarpathia Volodymyr Hlasner on his Facebook page.

“At night, February 3, 2015, around 1 am, a group of persons with visible signs of intoxication made an attempt to enter the territory of the headquarters of the Volunteer Ukrainian Corps (Right Sector). The duty officer explained those individuals that the access to the territory is prohibited. After that, one of the group took an object similar to a Makarov pistol and made several shots at the duty officer.

The Right Sector Operations Group immediately disarmed and detained the attackers. The pistol and two knives were seized from the criminals. The detainees were transferred to police officers, who also arrived at the scene. The criminals were identified. They were so-called “activists” Pavlo Pavlov, Victor Kovacs, Tetyana Dyurd and another person. In the presence of witnesses, weapons and evidence – sleeves of 9 mm caliber – were seized at the scene.

Currently the investigation and establishing the causes of the attack and the possible range of people involved continues. We consider different versions of the crime: from hooliganism motives to deliberately planned provocation for undermining the situation in the city and the region.”

Tomorrow, at 14:00, there will be a small press conference regarding these night events at the headquarters of the RS of Transcarpathia at Uzhgorod, Krynychny Lane, 31.
