Three hundred participants of the ATO have been treated in Mukachevo military hospital
According to the head of the hospital Yarema Becker, since the outbreak of hostilities on the territory of Ukraine, 299 ATO participants have received medical care in the Ministry of Defence military hospital in Mukachevo. Most of them are Transcarpathians, but wounded soldiers from other regions of Ukraine are treated here too. Currently, 66 ATO participants are undergoing inpatient treatment at the hospital.
Transcarpathian authorities appeal to the Ministry of Defense and the President of Ukraine on the military camp in Mukachevo
On Wednesday, October 5, the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Vasyl Hubal and the Chairman of the Regional Council Volodymyr Chubirko visited the military camp in Mukachevo where relocated soldiers are stationed at the old unit.
The head of the Regional State Administration inspected the premises and talked with the military. Given the fact that some information is classified, the head of the region refused to comment on the conditions of the soldiers’ stay. “I leave it to the Ministry of Defense… But we are Ukrainians, and we are Transcarpathians. And we understand that the military department faces great challenges, and, for our part, we will try to help this camp, where soldiers stay between relocations, in any way we can.”
During the working visit, they talked about the provision of construction materials required for the arrangement of necessary infrastructure, provision with certain facilities and so on. Also, the head of the RSA asked soldiers to contribute to the arrangement of the camp with their own labour. On Friday, the head of the region with representatives of the relevant services will revisit the unit to determine specific aid.
And by the end of Wednesday, October 5, they will have prepared a letter to the Ministry of Defence, the ATO Headquarters, the President of Ukraine on behalf of the head of the Regional State Administration and the Chairman of the Regional Council, in which they will lay out their vision of the state of the military camp and ask to pay attention to the conditions in which the soldiers are stationed in Mukachevo and to help them in improvement and meeting of their needs.
Transcarpathia has began implementing the Ukraine-EU Agreement
Regional authorities have developed the regional action plan for the implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union.
In particular, it provides for the conclusion of agreements on bilateral cooperation on Rural Tourism Development between Transcarpathia and the respective administrative-territorial units of the EU Member States.
Also they planned to arrange for the study of the European experience of local self-governance, the organization of workshops in our region. They will enhance the cooperation with the EU Member States to share the information on methods of planning and implemention of the public policy for regional development.
Also Transcarpathia plans to receive the EU assistance within CIB, Twinning, TAIEX instruments and cooperation within the framework of the SIGMA.
The region will fund two Transcarpathian books
Two books by Transcarpathian authors will be published soon. Those are the book “Vasyl Svyda. Immortal” dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the famous Transcarpathian sculptor and the book by Mykhailo Tomchaniy “Selected Works”.
160,000 UAH has been allocated from the regional budget for the publication of the two books. The funds were allocated under the regional program to support local authors, promotion of Transcarpathian books and book distribution for 2012 – 2014.
