The city ranks first in the region in terms of the number of school forms where inclusive education for children with special needs has been introduced. These data were announced today at the board of the City Department of Education. Thus, at the recommendations of psychological, medical and pedagogical consultation, in this academic year, individual training has been organized for 41 children with special needs. 10 students study under the secondary school curriculum, 18 – under the auxiliary school curriculum, 13 – under the program of intensive educational correction.
According to the head of psychological, medical and pedagogical consultation Natalia Sivachek, since September 1, 2015, inclusive education has been organized for 26 children in 22 forms. In 16 forms, positions of assistant teacher have been introduced to work with pupils with special educational needs. The psychological support for children with special educational needs has also been introduced at schools.
At the suggestion of Mukachevo mayor Andriy Baloha, the city psychological, medical and educational consultation will receive a room to work with children with special needs and their parents.
Following the board meeting, managements of schools were instructed to intensify the work on the overall development of children with special needs, their involvement in group work, to strengthen control over the educational work, to systematically work with parents of students enrolled in individual programs in order to inform them about the educational achievements of children. Practical psychologists were tasked to strengthen educational work among students, parents and teachers on the work with children with special needs.
