This year, they have decided to save on celebrations

Today, August 23, Ukrainians honor the state symbols of their country.

This year, the karpatnews informs, unlike last year’s celebrations, the Flag Day will be celebrated more modestly and with less spendings. As the Minister of Culture Yevhen Nyshchuk noted at the briefing dedicated to the Independence Day, in such a difficult situation in the country, it would be inappropriate to arrange mass entertainment and loud celebrations. 

In Uzhgorod, the official ceremony will start at 10.00. On Narodna Square, there will be an assembly: they will raise the national flag, lay flowers to the monument of Ukrainian adherents and let honor guests make speeches.

Recall, the Independence Day in the regional center of Transcarpathia will start with a prayer for Ukraine.
