The statement of the Public Convention on the events of recent days in Uzhgorod city council

For many years, our city has been run by bandit groups and clans, replacing each other from time to time. By bribing inactive voters indifferent to the social life, using the methods of administrative pressure and all sorts of manipulation, the worst of the worst, unscrupulous, corrupt and immoral people come to power.

This situation has led to chaos and mismanagement in Uzhgorod, absence of effective management of the city, corrupt practices in all spheres of life of the regional center of Transcarpathia. Before our eyes, Uzhgorod is transforming from a cozy, old town to faceless, disheveled Shanghai, where there is no order, no safety, no uniform rules.

Unfortunately, after the victory of the Maidan, the situation in Uzhgorod, as in Transcarpathian region as a whole, has not changed for the better. New leaders do not think about system changes, new, transparent approaches to work, abandoning backstage arrangements and corruption schemes.
The events of recent days are trivial bickering between local lords and bandits for positions (in this case, first of all, for the position of the Secretary of the City Council – Acting Mayor).

We appeal to the people of Uzhgorod. 
Dear Uzhgorod residents, we can not tolerate gangster showdowns threatening our city and our children’s future.
 

Uzhgorod needs a new mayor, an effective manager, who can establish order in the city!
Uzhgorod needs a new city council, members of which would be active young people, patriots of their city, and not corrupt, unprincipled lackeys who are willing to sell their own mother for an office, land or money

We demand from the Acting Mayor V. Shchadey to convene an extraordinary session of Uzhgorod City Council and include the issue of the dissolution of the Council to the agenda.

We appeal to former Mayor V. Pogorelov with a proposition to withdraw the suit on the illegitimacy of his dismissal from the office and to take part in election.

The best judge in this case will be residents of Uzhgorod!

We demand for early elections of Uzhgorod mayor and Uzhgorod city council!
