Uzhgorod Goverla is the most problematic club of the Premier League.
Uzhgorod club owes wages to dozens of players and its former coach – Oleksandr Sevidov. The coach won the case against the club in all instances, but Goverla has not fulfilled its obligations, while received a license for the season.
"I am not going to stand near the FFU with a poster "Give Sevidov money." I warned Konkov and Hataullin that I would turn with claims to the UEFA, and not to Goverla. I just want to ask on what grounds the club was licensed," – Sevidov said in the interview for ProFootball.
Zaria, Volyn and Karpaty also faced with similar problems, but they also received licenses for the new season and the Luhansk club even started playing in European tournaments.
"It’s the easiest way to just cut off a club. If Karpaty or Volyn cooperate and say that they are trying to solve financial problems, then we must reach out to the club. If we see hopelessness and futility, of course, we say no. We will not allow to cheat players and coaches" – the head of the attestation committee of the FFU Igor Hataullin reassured.
At the last meeting of the club owners, the main investor of Goverla Nestor Shufrich promised to solve all the issues by the beginning of the championship, but still has not done it.
"Yes, we said that we would close the debts by the first round, but we were sure that the first round would be postponed by a week or two because of uncertainty about the format of the tournament. By 29-30, the players will be paid what they were supposed to receive by the 20th. This is a technical hitch" – the vice-president of Goverla Oleksandr Shufrich said.
According to the striker of Goverla Maxim Shatskikh, the delay in payment of wages for some players has reached six or seven months, but so far they only receive promises. According to rumors, the players are talking about refusing to play in the second round matches, if the club does not pay them.
"We are waiting, but if we see the deception and failure to perform its obligations, then we may begin the withdrawal of the license. We do not need such clubs" – Hataullin summed up.
