Victor Shchadey suggests deputies of Uzhgorod City Council to decide whether he should be the Secretary and the Acting Mayor

The Acting Mayor of Uzhgorod Victor Shchadey, commented on the consequences of the current events in the City Council, during which dozens of people demanded his resignation.

"I wrote a letter of invitation to deputies to consider my resignation. I will concede to their decision in any case. If they vote for my dismissal – I will not challenge it. They are to decide whether I should be in this position or not. I do not cling to the office."

As we know from our own sources, Victor Shchadey and the administrator of the executive committee Oleksandr Volosyansky were "offered" to write letters on resignation with threats of physical violence. Among the rebels, there were people from groups of Ratushniak, Zholtani, the Adylovs (old "partners" of the Pogorelov family).

Uzhgorod.in emphasizes that the information that Shchadey has supposedly written a letter of resignation is false.

However, we know that now some members of the city council are gathering signatures to convene an extraordinary session which, if they have enough signatures, must be announced within 10 days.

The "revolt" of alleged members of the community, and in fact people brought to the city hall by representatives of the former city government and their partners, aims not only to destabilize the situation in Uzhgorod, but also to put in the chair of the Secretary of the City Council a person who would let them restore old corruption schemes, ie it is an attempt of the revenge by the regime overthrown during the revolutionary events. Tellingly, such unrest is intentionally raised at the time when active forces of the city are concerned about the war. However, the true community must speak too.
