Uzhgorod residents will be prohibited to buy alcohol after 11 o’clock

This was stated by the Acting Mayor of Uzhgorod Victor Shchadey.

He said he was ready to take responsibility for such an unpopular decision.

Today, Mr. Shchadey will give order to develop appropriate draft decision.

Recall that each city has the right to independently decide on the sale of alcohol at night time. Uzhgorod decided to look up to Lviv, where such prohibition is already adopted. According to the Acting Mayor, in the regional center the ban will be in effect from 23:00 until the morning.

As noted by Mr. Victor: "At night, people need to be at home with families and sleep."

In this way, the Acting Mayor hopes to address many controversial issues, such as complaints about the work of a convenience stores, teenage drinking, night crime and so on.
