In Transcarpathia they have already pumped 44 million cubic meters of water.

Uzhgorod.in have already reported that on 30 – 31 of March on the region’s rivers the formation of another spring flood wave is expected with an overall rise in water levels from 0.5 to 3.3 meters. Water management warn that a flood is expected in Transcarpathia. So far, it is under control.

The head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration announced that on March 30 at the national selector meeting chaired by the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksandr Vilkul.

 Oleksandr Vilkul said to pay particular attention to situation in Zhytomyr, Transcarpathian, Ternopil, Khmelnytsky and Odesa regions.

As to the Transcarpathian region, they drew attention to the need to bring to order nearly twenty percent of the waterworks, drainage, sewerage and drainage systems.

Head of the Regional State Administration Oleksandr Ledyda reported on the situation in Transcarpathia:

– Yesterday evening in the mountainous areas of the region there was snowfall, so at night traffic of large freight vehicles was suspended, but today from 8 o’clock in the morning all the roads and passes have been operating in normal mode – the head of the region informed. – I’d like to note also that 48 automated stations of flood forecasting system in the basin of the Tisa every five minutes provide the information which allows to control the situation regarding water levels and the state of the protective structures.

Also the head of the region reported: eight pumping stations in the region are working in emergency mode – over the last days they have pumped out over 44 million cubic meters of water.
