Heads of three Uzhgorod opposition parties "Batkivshchyna", "Freedom" and PRP addressed to Uzhgorod Prosecutor Ivan Shtefanyuk with the letter, in which they requested "to give legal commentary and take measures of the prosecutor’s reaction" regarding the decision of the executive committee to raise fares for Uzhgorod buses to 2.30 UAH.
The opposition parties members noted in the letter: "The city government specified 2 reasons for raising of tariffs: 1. Increase of the the minimum wage of the citizens 2. Rising prices for fuel and lubricants. However, those are not the reasonable justification of the need for raise of the fares. The draft decision does not contain the analysis of the minimum number of routing resources needed for the continuous transportation of passengers in Uzhgorod … there is no analysis of the carriers’ expenses, and therefore we can not say whether they need to raise tariffs. The analysis of the regulatory impact of the draft decision contains rates of the minimum wage growth, but does not account for inflation, which reduces real incomes of the citizens … ".
The letter also mentioned other issues that the authorities did not pay attention to, when increasing the fare.
The petition was signed by H. Kozlova "Batkivshchyna" S. Biley "Svoboda", I. Berets PRP.
