The festival of jam will be held in the village of Hecha in Beregovo district on August 26. As the head of tourist information center in Transcarpathia Oleksandr Koval said, it will be held for the fourth time. There will be demonstrated the traditions of Transcarpathia in processing and preparation of plums jam.
They will start to prepare jam from the early morning while stirring it constantly. It will be preparing all day. Therefore, the last year’s jam will be brought there. Guests will be able to taste it and purchase food made of jam (hambovtsi with plums, dumplings and pancakes). The festival program includes competition for the most delicious Hungarian dishes in the nominations: Kettle-goulash, bob-goulash, fish soup and cabbage rolls. Beginning is at 1 p.m. The grand opening of the celebration will be held at the 2 p.m. The winner of jam cooking will be determined at the end of the day.
