“Zakarpattyaoblenergo”: About a dozen thefts every day

This is how many facts of unauthorized interference in the electric power grids is found daily by employees of the "Zakarpattyaoblenergo" PJSC

The "Zakarpattyaoblenergo" PJSC informs that during the period from 21 to 25 of March this year, employees of the Company revealed 50 facts of electricity theft.

In particular, 41 reports of violation were drawn up against household consumers and 9 reports – against legal entities (private entrepreneurs, companies, firms, etc.).

Most cases of illegal interference in the power grid by household consumers over the past week were found in Khust district (9 violations). Most often, electricity was illegally consumed through damaging and removal of seals on meters, damaging meters, connection of hidden wiring sockets. Another frequent violation during this period was unauthorized connection via electric meter (10 cases).

In the legal sector (private entrepreneurs, companies, firms, etc.) facts of thefts were detected in 4 districts, most of them in the city of Uzhgorod (6 cases). The most popular violation (in 4 cases out of 9) remains the interference in the metering device by damaging it (damaged meter housing, broken glass, etc.).

Also during the last week, Committees to review reports of violation imposed fines totaling UAH 186.8 thousand, of which:

– Among households – for 176.700 UAH

– Among legal entities – for 10,100 UAH.
