At the Slovakia border checkpoint “Uzhhorod – Vyshne Nemecke,” a 22-year-old Zakarpattia resident was detained for transporting undeclared goods and an air rifle without the necessary documentation. The young man was returning from the Czech Republic in a Mercedes Benz Sprinter, choosing the “green corridor,” which indicates he had no items subject to declaration.
After a thorough inspection, customs officers found boxes of imported goods, including two hybrid inverters and 23 lithium-ion batteries, with an estimated value of around one million hryvnias. Although the items were energy equipment exempt from customs duties, they still needed to be declared.
Additionally, an air rifle (5.5 mm caliber) was found among the driver’s personal belongings, which he was transporting without proper documents. A customs protocol was drawn up for the violation, and customs authorities informed law enforcement for further investigation and the imposition of fines.
