Yuriy Belyakov from Uzhgorod is the head of Odesa Military Commissariat

Yuriy Belyakov, a former deputy of Uzhgorod City Council has been appointed the military commissar of the Odesa Regional Military Commissariat of the operational command "South". The order on his appointment signed by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak is posted on the official website of the Ministry.

Background of Yuriy Belyakov.

Born on July 22, 1961 in the city of Sambir in Lviv region.

A graduate of the Kyiv Suvorov Military School and the Baku Higher Combined School.

In 2007, he graduated from the Transcarpathian State University majoring in "Accounting and audit".

From 1978 to 1991, he served in the armed forces, including from 1982 to 1983 – in the Republic of Afghanistan.

From 2000 to 2002, he worked at the Department of Internal Policy of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration.

Since 2002, he has been a deputy of Uzhgorod City Council.

From 2002 to 2005, he was the Secretary of Uzhgorod City Council.

From July 1998 to June 2006, he headed Uzhgorod City Association of Afghan War Veterans.

Since 2008, he has been the authorized representative of the State Committee of Ukraine on Veteran Affairs in Transcarpathian region.

In November 2010, he became the Deputy Mayor of Uzhgorod.

In 2014, Yuriy Belyakov voluntarily went to the ATO zone where he was injured.
