Young Uzhgorod musicians brought awards from the 5th International Festival-Competition “Metropolitan Meetings”

It took place last weekend, February 1-2, in Kyiv. 
The students of Uzhgorod Children’s School of Arts (director – Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine Natalia Gromova) and the folk amateur choir of teachers of this school "Astara" also participated in the competition among the 65 participants, who competed in different nominations and genres.
As a result, Uzhgorod contestants won several prizes.
In particular:
First place – Anna Mikhalyova (saxophone, teacher Stepan Potsko, concertmaster Olga Chundak) and the folk amateur teacher Choir "Astara" (headed by Nelia Schweiger);
Second place – Anna Ledney (flute, teacher Oksana Hrynevych, concertmaster Svitlana Polishchuk), Kristina Huzynets (violin, teacher Tibor Barkasi, concertmaster Olga Hanych), Anastasia Hrynevych (flute, teacher Oksana Hrynevych, concertmaster Svitlana Polishchuk)
Third place – Valeria Doleshak (piano, teacher Tetyana Chundak), Sonia Zozulych (piano, teacher Olga Hanych).
Also, the choir leaders, teachers and concertmasters were awarded for the significant contribution to the education of young people, for their professional skill, pedagogical talent.
