Young people brought the coffin with Ukrainian language to a head of RSA Alexand Ledyda (PHOTOS)

The protest action against the ‘language’ law adoption in the second reading was held by the activists of various Transcarpathian Public Youth political organizations under the walls of the Regional State Administration today, June 19.

Although there were not a lot of young people (nearly 30), they loudly chanted ‘Glory to Ukraine – death for its enemies’, ‘Take care of “Ji” and “Je” because it is yours’. The activists also held a mini-performance, a kind of flash-mob, where young men wearing masks with Kolesnichenko and Kivalov’s faces took away books of national writers and threw them into the coffin. This symbolized the death of the Ukrainian language. Then the coffin was presented to the actor-Yanukovych, who symbolically battered the coffin.

‘We show our political position in such a way, that we do care about this issue. After all, in Transcarpatia, in accordance with the law, the status of the regional can get Hungarian that will lead to a huge financial costs’, – said Mykhailo Sakalosh, the event’s organizer. The protesters have repeatedly emphasized that this law is unconstitutional. As a result, young people left the coffin under the Regional State Administration and publicly asked the governor to contact the President of Ukraine with a demand to veto the law if it will be accepted.
