"The next Friday there will be the final of the competition, and the winner will be announced in the Saturday’s newspaper (probably he means the newspaper "Uzhgorod" – uzhgorod.in). There will be three stages. The first stage is Teatralna Square. There are already several offers from different architects" – Uzhgorod Mayor replied to questions about plans for the reconstruction of Teatralna Square.
As for the cost, he said: "Over one million hryvnias are provided for Voloshin and Korzo streets."
Regarding the commencement of works, he informed that right after the determination of "the winner", a tender for the works will be announced. "This year we want to do at least the first part," – the mayor said.
As uzhgorod.in noted, the reconstruction of the square is obviously necessary, but such significant for the city and, in particular, the historic part of it projects should be discussed publicly.
However, not even the details and terms of the competition have been diclosed.
The same applies to the competition for improvment of the pedestrian zone of the historical center.
