Yosyp Borto is sure: the office of the KMKSZ in Uzhgorod was not set on fire, but was blown up (PHOTOS)

According to preliminary information, an unknown person set an improvised explosive device on the window sill of the Society of Hungarian Culture of Transcarpathia office, which detonated around 3.12 am on February 27.

We have already reported that at night, in Uzhgorod, the office of the KMKSZ was set on fire. New details of the incident were revealed by the first deputy chairman of the Transcarpathian Regional Council and the deputy chairman of the KMKSZ (Society of Hungarian Culture of Transcarpathia) Yosyp Borto in a comment to the Mukachevo.net.

According to him, everything, including the perpetrator, was recorded by video surveillance cameras – both on the building of the KMKSZ office and on other buildings on Pravoslavna embankment in Uzhgorod.

– Today, at 3 o’clock in the morning, unknown persons or person committed a terrorist act against our office. Video surveillance cameras captured an unknown person bringing a bag with an explosive from the direction of the pedestrian bridge and then putting this bag on the window sill and at 3:05 walking towards the Hungarian Consulate, then along the embankment. Seven minutes after that, there was a powerful explosion which was heard by security guards in the neighboring buildings, who called the fire brigade and the police.   As a result of the explosion, both windows of the office got broken, and a big fire started inside, which destroyed the whole office, all the premises of the two-storied building. I was informed about the incident at 3:15, and at 3:25 I was already there, – Yosyp Borto told the Mukachevo.net all the details of the night incident. – I am sure that in Ukraine and in Transcarpathia there is no person, who would have committed this crime. We have nationalists, ultranationalists, but I do not think that those were citizens of Ukraine who did this.
