December 25, in the morning (at 8.40), people could observe from the windows of their houses an interesting phenomenon – a moon against the background of a bright blue sky.
As the Deputy Head of Transcarpathian Centre for Hydrometeorology Vasylyna Blokh explained, such phenomenon is quite rare. This happens only when the atmosphere is very clean, which on that day was "cleaned" by the Siberian anticyclone. Also, such phenomenon cannot be seen, when there is an Atlantic anticyclone over us, because, Ms Blokh said, there is lot of moisture in the air then.
Therefore, such picture can be seen mainly in November, December and January. By the way, the moon in the morning of that day could only be seen in Uzhgorod , because, for
example, in Khust district, there was a fog at that time.
