Yesterday, at checkpoints of the Chop border guard detachment, border guards in cooperation with customs officers prevented three attempts of illegal cigarette transportation across the border.
In the first case, tobacco products were hidden in three recesses of a car "Nissan" in which our countryman was heading to Slovakia through the checkpoint "Maly Berezny". However, when passing the border and customs control, a dog trained to search for tobacco products gave a signal. As a result, during a joint in-depth inspection, they found 533 packs of cigarettes "NZ (SuperSlimGold)" hidden in the front right and left fender and under the rear bumper of the car.
In the second case, a Ukrainian in a minibus "Mercedes" going through the checkpoint "Tisa" to Hungary concealed cigarettes in double side walls under the lining. But after removing the lining and dismantling of the luggage compartment, border guard found tobacco with Ukrainian excise stamps "BOND" and "Style (Slims)" in total amount of 995 packs.
Meanwhile, at the railroad crossing point "Chop (Druzhba)", border guards, during the inspection of a cargo train, found 70 packs of cigarettes "Fest". They were hidden in a car design features, namely in a beam over the wheel pair.
Currently, all the found tobacco products, as well as cars "Nissan" and "Mercedes" were confiscated by customs officers. The total cost of all the seized property is over 300,000 UAH.
