“Yellow” danger level has been declared in Transcarpathia

Due to the movement of the cold front zone through Transcarpathian region, in the period from 12 to 13 of May, a significant change in weather conditions is expected, Transcarpathian weather forecasters inform: Rain is expected on May 12 during the day, in the mountains – snow and sleet in the evening and at night. In some places in the mountains: fog, ice, light blizzard in the highlands, ice cover on some sections of mountain roads. In the central and eastern districts of the region, in some places there will be heavy rain. During the day on May 12, increase of north wind to 7-12, in some places – 15-20 m / s, sometimes up to 24 m / s. On May 12-13, the maximum air temperature will drop to 12-17°. On May 13, at night and in the morning, in the mountainous and foothill areas of the region, there will be 0-3° frosts on the surface of the soil and in the air. Such weather conditions can be critical for flowers and ovary of fruit and berry crops and seedlings of thermophilic crops and lead to disruption of traffic on some sections of mountain roads.
