Yanukovych dismissed Azarov and the Cabinet

The President Viktor Yanukovych has signed a decree on the resignation of the Prime Minister and the Cabinet.

"Subject to Article 115 of the Constitution of Ukraine and in accordance with paragraph 9 of Article 106, Part 1 of the Constitution of Ukraine I hereby accept the resignation of the Prime Minister Mykola Azarov, resulting in the resignation of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine", – states the decree No. 673/2012.

By the same document Yanukovych also instructed the Cabinet to continue to perform their duties until the newly formed government begins to work.

By the applicable law, the Prime Minister shall be appointed by the President with the consent of more than half of the Verkhovna Rada.
