Writer Oleg Shynkarenko will present his books in Uzhgorod

On Monday, October 17th, at 14.00, in the Center "Window to America" of the ​​Regional Library (Svoboda Ave., 16, 1st floor), there will be the presentation of two novels "Kaharlyk" and "First Ukrainian Robots" by writer, journalist of "Hromadske Radio" Oleg Shynkarenko.

The book of Oleg Shynkarenko "Kaharlyk" (Serhiy Pantyuk Publishing, 2014. The second edition of the novel was published in 2015) is a satirical dystopia, cyber-punk and road novel, which depicts life in Ukraine in a hundred years. Due to Russian occupation, Ukraine fell back into the Middle Ages.

The protagonist, whose mind was used to manufacture computers for Russian military satellites, is trying to regain his memory and his wife. To do that, he embarks to the mysterious city of Kaharlyk, where time has stopped still as a result of new weapons tests.    

    The novel "First Ukrainian Robots" is written in the genre of adventure satirical science fiction with a twisted plot. But readers, who are familiar with Shynkarenko’s previous novel "Kaharlyk", know that the author likes to break genre canons and various literary rules. The events of the novel unfold in Ukraine a hundred years from now. The hybrid war with Russia still continues, but the two warring countries, in order to avoid casualties, agreed to send to the front line only robots.

The mysterious terrorist organization "Movement against iron" starts an anarchic war against cyborgs. Gradually, the situation with robots is getting out of control.
