World champion, one of the most celebrated Uzhgorod athletes Anatoliy Herey will receive an apartment at the expense of the regional budget

Anatoliy Herey, a multiple-time winner of the World and European Championships, will receive an apartment at the expense of the regional budget. This will increase other athelets’ motivation to achieve high sports results.

The corresponding draft decision "On the purchase of an apartment for the participant of the XXXIII Summer Olympic Games A.Herey" will be submitted for consideration by deputies of the Regional Council during the 8th session, the first meeting of which will take place on September 21.

Anatoliy Herey is currently living with his family members in an apartment with a living area of ​​29 sq.m. and is in the housing register of the executive committee of Uzhgorod City Council.

According to the press service of the Transcarpathian Regional Council, the expenditures for the purchase of an apartment for A.Herey will be made at the expense and within the limits of the funds provided for in the regional budget for implementation of the measures of the Program for development of physical culture and sports in Transcarpathian region for the period until 2020, in the section "Improvement of housing and living conditions by purchasing apartments for the participants of the Olympic, Paralympic Games, prize-winners of the championships and cups of world and Europe – members of national teams of Ukraine, leading atheletes and professionals."

Thus, according to the Program, in 2017, UAH 800.0 thousand is provided for the implementation of the above-mentioned task. This amount is sufficient for its implementation, including the costs associated with the execution of the necessary procedures, and does not require additional expenses.

The project is aimed at social support of the best athletes in Transcarpathia and is considered as a stimulating example that will increase the motivation of athletes in Transcarpathia to achieve high sports results.
