World Bank: inflation in Ukraine will accelerate to 40%

The World Bank expects acceleration of consumer inflation in Ukraine in 2015 to 40%.

This was reported by the economist of the World Bank in Ukraine Anastasia Holovach during the presentation of a new economic survey and macroeconomic forecast for Ukraine at the WB office, the UNIAN reported.

"Inflation will remain high. At the end of this year, we expect that consumer price growth may be around 40%," – Holovach said.

As reported, the NBU expects 7.5% GDP decline in 2015 with 30% inflation, and 3% GDP growth in 2016 with 13-14% inflation.

Recall that the National Bank estimated the GDP decline in Ukraine in the first quarter of 2015 at 15%.
