The expected extraordinary meeting of Transcarpathian Regional Council took place today. Quietly and without surprises.
Which, however, could have been otherwise, if the National Security and Defense Council had not adopted the decision, which significantly relieved the tension, although only partially fulfills the requirements of the Ukrainian community on the inadmissibility of economic relations with the enemy.
Given that the leadership of the country de facto supported the blockade, which they condemned just a few days ago, the results of the voting in the regional council were expected.
The appeal to the state leadership was supported by all 37 deputies who registered in the hall.
Before that, during the discussion, it was suggested to amend the text of the appeal and to suggest to establish a parliamentary commision for investigation.
Thus, Transcarpathian deputies adopted the appeal to the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy and the Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman on the need to protect national interests in the situation in eastern Ukraine.
In general, the meeting took place quietly, without hassle and disturbances. However, a few dozens of law enforcement officers were in the building of the Regional Council. No one blocked anything or burned tires (as happened in other regions), everything went quickly and constructively.
