Within the framework of the “Year of Japan in Ukraine”, sakura trees will be planted in Uzhgorod

This was announced by Istvan Tsap on his page on Facebook.

This year marks 25 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Ukraine and the activities to celebrate the "Year of Japan in Ukraine" are already taking place.

Since sakura is a symbol of Japan, the Embassy has launched a campaign for planting sakura trees throughout Ukraine so that more Ukrainians have the opportunity to enjoy its beauty. Starting April, about 1,000 trees will be planted in more than 20 cities of Ukraine, including Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa and others (full list of the cities below).

The aim of this campaign is to plant as many trees throughout Ukraine as possible, and given the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between our countries, we propose to call it "2500 Sakura campaign". The total number of the trees planted will be announced on the official website of the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine.
Now, they are considering creating a special page dedicated to this campaign, which will be reported in more detail later. If you have any questions about the "2500 Sakura Campaign", please contact
