Within a week Transcarpathians, stole nearly a million hryvnia worth of electricity

The "Zakarpattyaoblenergo" PJSC informs that during the period from March 13 to April 2 this year, the company’s employees revealed 52 facts of electricity thefts.

In particular, 45 reports of violation were drawn up against household consumers and 7 reports – against legal entities (private entrepreneurs, companies, firms, etc.).

The most cases of illegal interference in the power grid by household consumers over the past week were found in Tyachiv district and in the city of Uzhgorod (17 and 6 violations, respectively). The most common violation is damaging and removal of seals on metering devices, and interference in the metering device by its damaging (damaged meter housing, broken glass, etc.).

In the legal sector (private entrepreneurs, companies, firms, etc.) facts of thefts were detected in 6 districts, most of them in the city of Uzhgorod (2 violations). The most popular violation (in 6 cases) remains the interference in the metering device by damaging it (damaged meter housing, broken glass, etc.).

Also during the last week, Committees to review reports of violation imposed fines totaling UAH 922.92 thousand, of which:

• among households – UAH 386.69 thousand
• among legal entities – UAH 536.23 thousand.
