Within a week, 2444 Transcarpathians got sick with flu

The epidemiology of SARS in Transcarpathian region for the 52nd calendar week 

According to the head of epidemic surveillance and sanitary protection department Victoria Dordyay, within the last week 2444 people have turned to health care institutions of the region about SARS and influenza. 69.0% of cases are children under the age of 17 years. 6.0% of the total of cases (148 persons) have been hospitalized, of which 86.0% are children.

The incidence of influenza and SARS among the population of the region is 54.0% below the epidemic threshold and corresponds to the average long-term levels of observation. Epidemic thresholds in districts of the region have not been reached.

Since the beginning of the epidemic season, with a view to specific prophylaxis, 4684 persons of health and epidemic risk have been vaccinated against influenza.

No information on the registration of cases of post-vaccination complications due to application of immunological drugs against influenza has been received from health care facilities of the region, – the press-center of the Health Care Department in Transcarpathian region informed.
