With songs and dances, Roma marched the streets of Uzhgorod (VIDEO)

As part of the celebration of the International Roma Day, festive events took place in Uzhgorod today, the Uzh-Inform reported.

First, in front of the Philharmonic, Roma intellectuals arranged an impromptu concert, where they played music, sang Roma folk songs, danced gypsy dances in colorful costumes.

Representatives of Roma nationality made a solemn procession along central streets, singing and playing musical instruments. Finally, Roma dropped baskets of flowers from Uzhgorod pedestrian bridge into water.

In the evening, a concert took place in the hall of the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic. The event was initiated by the Society of Musical Culture of Transcarpathian Roma "Lautari" with the support of the Department of Culture and the Department of Nationalities and Religions of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration.
