Mountains and thermal pools are traditionally in the top list of destinations for summer vacation in the Carpathians. New thermal pools are being opened in the region, it is noteworthy that each of them has its own chemical composition with unique therapeutic effects. And in the mountains, at the ski resorts, which are at the peak of popularity in the winter, they have come up with entertainment for guests for the summer season too: jeep and ATV riding, hiking or horseback riding in the mountains. At most mountain resorts of Transcarpathia, swimming pools have been opened, as in the summer most people want to swim. In short, everything to please the tourists.

Transcarpathia is also attractive for the festivals taking place every week in major cities of the region. Recently, in Mukachevo, they celebrated the anniversary of the wedding of the Palanok castle rulers – Ilona Zrinyi and Imre Thököly – they arranged a real reconstruction of a medieval wedding. And in Uzhgorod, on June 28, the Parade of Brides will be held. Also, they organize festivals in iconic tourist villages. In the village of 10 museums Kolochava (Mizhhirya district), the festival of riplyanka (local dish made of potatoes and corn flour – Ed.) and Czech beer took place last weekend, and on the last weekend of June, blacksmiths come to Irshava district, to the only functioning water forge in Ukraine and Europe.

Gastronomic tours are at the peak of popularity in the region. Those are trips in search of exclusive food and drinks, which are made only here, often manually. Those are cheese (the hit of the season is the cheese made of buffalo milk), wine, craft beer, honey, jam…

Children will be interested in domestic farms where they can not only see animals but also feed and pet them.
