The mayor of Uzhgorod today Bogdan Andriyiv visited the site of switchover to a new branch of water supply network on Peremoha Street, which runs from Mynai water intake and supplies water to a large part of the city, the press service of the City Council informs.
Old pipes with the diameter of over 60 cm have long gotten rotten, in many places they were like a sieve, accidents have often occurred, a lot of water has been lost because of hidden leaks.
The new pipes are made of state-of-the-art materials, they were laid next to the old ones, and the water will be supplied through them. Because of a large scope of works, they had to stop water supply to the left bank and partially to the right bank part of Uzhgorod.
As you know, the Vodokanal specialists are working at the intersection of Peremoha-Lehotsky-Babiak streets and near the city border in the direction of Storozhnytsia.
Thanks to the new pipes, water losses will be reduced significantly.
