Why have trucks accumulated at Transcarpathian customs posts?

A considerable number of commercial vehicles have accumulated at the ​​customs posts "Uzhgorod", "Tisa" and "Dyakovo". The checkpoints of the Transcarpathian customs are operating in the normal mode and clearing trucks within their capacity.

For example, in October 3, 552 commercial vehicles left Ukraine through the checkpoints that carry out clearance of trucks.

At present, the reason for such a traffic of trucks, that choose checkpoints in Transcarpathian region, is the expiry of Russian and Belarussian carriers’ free passes for Polish roads, and that is why they go to Europe via Slovakia.

In addition, it should be noted that the accumulation of trucks during Saturday-Sunday is due to the fact that on the territory of neighboring European states traffic of trucks on these days is prohibited.

Customs officials point out that they are doing everything they can to reduce the time carriers and foreign economic operators spend at the border. In order to avoid queues, they ask to take the above information into account and, if possible, to plan crossing of the customs border through checkpoints of other customs offices.
