The Anti-Corruption Committee will appear in Transcarpathia. The establishment of the social organization to fight against corruption was initiated by the Vice Rector of UzhNU Roman Ofitsynsky.
"I, as a person who knows about corruption not just from books, have decided to establish a non-governmental organization "Anti-Corruption Sector of Transcarpathia."
Everybody knows well and understands that the corruption scandal, I was dragged into, was nothing but a set up and a political persecution, but it is this scandal that has awoken in me a great desire to fight against bribe-takers, not only in our university, but throughout the land.
I want to prove that bribery and corruption can be overcome and I have high hopes that one day the name of Ofitsynsky will be associated with large-scale anti-corruption movement.
I promise to expose corruption schemes and bribery activities of UzhNU teachers, law enforcement officers, judges and prosecutors on the official page on Facebook every day.
Let’s fight corruption together! Together we can build a transparent system of social control and order" – the statement of Ofitsynsky posted on the page of the community says.
Recall a year ago, the Vice-Rector was arrested for taking bribes, as reported by the regional prosecutor’s office. Later Roman Ofitsynsky released on bail, and in February 2014 the then acting prosecutor of the region Andriy Bakay said the case against the Vice-Rector would be diverted.
