Uzhgorod residents came to the mayor’s office regarding the felled trees near the theater.
The information was distributed by Yaroslav Hulan.
"Regarding the spruce trees. Today, Tomash Lelekach, Oksana Shtefanyo, Oleksandr Volosyansky, Oleksandr Havrosh and I met with the Mayor Bohdan Andriyiv. The mayor said that the lot is privately owned. At the same time, he assured that the city government had written a statement to the police on the fact of tree felling.
I tried to remind the mayor that even if the lot is privately owned, it does not mean that you can do anything on it, including cutting trees or commencing construction.
Also Mr. Andriyiv reminded us that the site was allocated during Serhiy Ratushnyak’s term as the mayor. And I remind that Mr. Andriyiv himself was then a member of the City Council. I wonder if he voted for that decision.
Maybe it’s a subjective impression, but I personally did not hear from the mayor a principled and firm intent to prevent the construction at the site.
PS If you are outraged by the actions of the unknown persons, you can also file statement to the police. Please contact me, I will send the template. The statement can be mailed. The more of us, the stronger we are!"
