The source of the Chorna Tisa river, which the largest river in Transcarpathia originates from, has been turned into a tourist facility.
The source of the Tisa has long been a tourist destination. There are several tourist routes near the source, the UNN informs.
Now, after the reconstruction, there are safe stairs to the source of the Tisa, stone bowl near the source has been renovated, recreational facilities, information stands have been installed. Transcarpathian foresters decorated the tourist facility with wooden sculptures made of local trees that were affected by wind.
A memorial plaque, signs of Ukraine, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia and Serbia – the countries which the Tisa runs through – have been installed there. In addition, this river is part of the state border of Ukraine with Hungary and Romania.
According to Transcarpathian foresters, water from the source has healing properties. Now, tourists travelling in the Carpathians can see how the mighty mountain river is born from a little stream.
