What, where, when in Transcarpathia on weekend (7- 9 of May)

Uzhgorod.in continues weekly column and informs readers about the interesting events that will take place in the region.

May 7 – the holiday of sending off sheep up to the mountains "Spring mountain valley march." The beginning is at 13.00 in front of the House of Culture, then the festival will move to the local stadium. There will the kindling of bonfire, sheep milking. Special guests of the festival are the winner of the show "The Voice 5" Anton Kopytin, semifinalist of the show "The Voice 5", the famous singer, author and composer Ivan Pylypets, performer and author Svyatoslav Krai and comic theater "Kum" (Ivano-Frankivsk) (the village of Dubove, Tyachiv district).

May 7 – the anniversary symposium to celebrate the 120th anniversary of the founding of the School of Art in the Romanian city of Baia Mare. It is a tribute to the outstanding residents, founder of the Baia Mare School of Art, artist Shimeon Holloshi. At 15.00 – the opening of a memorial plaque to the artist, who lived and worked in Tyachiv for a long time. At 17.00, in the Art Gallery, there will be the opening of an exhibition of paintings Romanian artists, dedicated to the famous artist and teacher (Tyachiv).

May 7 – open meeting on "Old City: modern development strategy." All, who care about the fate of Uzhgorod, will have a unique opportunity to learn from the experience and knowledge as well as to communicate with a group of professional urbanists with extensive experience in the development of cities in Europe and Ukraine. The beginning is at 13:30 (Regional Art Museum, Uzhgorod).

May 7- 8 – XI Vynogradiv open festival of winemakers "Ugocsa Vine". May 7 (Saturday) – guided tour "Wine road of Borzhava narrow gauge" (Vynogradiv – the village of Oleshnyk – the village of Shalanky). 11.00 – departure from the station of Vinogradiv    At 17.00 – concert program in the local house of culture (Vynogradiv). May 8 (Sunday) – 12.00 – press conference "Ugocsa Vine"; 13.00 – festive procesion (Myr Square) 13.30 – opening ceremony of the festival: exhibition and sale of wine products; the beginning of the exhibition "Rural households"; announcement of the winners of the contest "Best Wine"; concert program (amphitheater in the Pereni park), headliner – the band "Chalamada"; 21.30 – fire show (Myr Square).

May 7-8 – The second festival "MAYSIA FEST!" The fest of proper recreation for all social and age groups, cheerful spring get-together.  The beginning is at 11.00 (Bozdosh Park, Uzhgorod).

May 7-8 – International Petanque Tournament "Sakura 2016". The beginning is at 9.00 (Gorky Park, Uzhgorod).

May 7 – 9 – the first gastronomic festival "Fire and Meat". Guests of the festival will be able to taste meat and vegetable dishes cooked on the fire; craft beer from Transcarpathian brewers, there will be a concert program. The beginning is at 11.00 (Peremoha Park, Mukachevo).

May 8 – culinary festival – bograch cooking championship! The beginning is at 9.00 ( "Kosyno Thermal Waters", the village of Kosyno, Beregovo district).

 May 8 – Marko Kropyvnytsky "With a wave of a wand". The beginning is at 11.00 and 13.00 (puppet theater "Bavka", Uzhgorod).

May 8 – parable-musical in one act "Mowgli" (director Natalia Timoshkina). The beginning is at 12.00 (25 UAH) (Regional Music and Drama Theater, Uzhgorod).

May 8 – Charity concert "In the hands of God" (Medical and Social Rehabilitation Center "Way of Life"). The beginning is at 17.00 (Regional Philharmonic, Uzhgorod).

May 8 – 9 – Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation and Day of the Victory over Nazism in World War II. The official slogan of commemorative events this year is "1939-1945. We remember. We Win." 8 May, at 20.00, on Teatralna Square in Uzhgorod, a concert will start (artists of the Regional Philharmonic, artistic collectives, as well as students and students of art schools). At 23.00 – All-Ukrainian campaign "The first minute of peace". May 9 – 10.00 – laying of flowers to the monument "Ukraine to liberators" on the Ukrainian-Slovak border. At 10.30 – laying of flowers to the monument of "To volunteers of Transcarpathia – participants of the Second World War (Cyril and Methodius Square in Uzhgorod). At 10.40, on Poshtova Square – formation of a column that will march to the Hill of Glory. 11.00 – meeting-requiem. Then, laying of flowers to the Eternal Flame. Also on this day, on Narodna Square in front of the RSA, during the day, the exhibition of military equipment will take place.

May 9 – next cycling practical training. Artem Tupchanyuk, master of sports of international class will teach children how to ride a bicycle, brake and stop properly, ride in a group. The beginning is at 14.00 (Peremoha Park, Mukachevo).
