At the customs post "Luzhanka", employees of the Transcarpathian Customs prevented illegal export of tobacco products to EU countries.
According to the Transcarpathian Customs, a Ukrainian was crossing the customs border of Ukraine with Hungary by a minibus "MERCEDES-BENZ".
Given the signs of the vehicle being fitted with specially made caches, customs officers made a decision to carry out a complete inspection of the vehicle.
“During the customs inspection of the vehicle with the help of a sniffer dog, customs officers found 250 packs of domestic cigarettes with excise duty stamps of Ukraine hidden in the cache. These actions constitute violation of customs rules provided for in Article 483 (1) of the Customs Code of Ukraine,” – the statement reads.
A report on violation of customs rules is being drawn up.
“The vehicle worth almost UAH 229 thousand and the cigarettes with an estimated cost of UAH 10 thousand were seized pending a court decision,” – the Transcarpathian Customs informed.
