What is winter in Ukraine going to be like – mild or cold? Opinions of forecasters are divided

The deputy head of Hydrometeorology Center of Anatoly Prokopenko predicts abnormally warm winter, the UNN writes.

"The temperature in January-February-March will be above the usual. That is higher than normal. We are comparing average temperatures over thirty years. So, if we take the average over thirty years, the temperature will be higher. That is higher than the norm," – he said.

January is going to be the coldest month. The average temperature ranges from 4 to 8 degrees below zero.

"Speaking of the lowest temperatures observed in Ukraine, 42 degrees below zero was recorded in the East. This is what was before. This year, we do not expect such strong cold spells. I think the lowest temperature will be briefly about 20-25 degrees below zero. In some places, it can reach 30 degrees. I do not think it will be below 30 degrees," – Anatoly Prokopenko he said.

There is another prediction. According to the folk weather forecaster Leonid Gorban, Ukraine faces cold autumn and cold prolonged winter. From the beginning to the middle of October, the temperature will be at 13-14 ° C. And first whiffs of winter will be felt at the end of the month. The winter is going to be not just cold, but the coldest in the last 32 years – with 30-degree frost – and will remain until the end of March.
