What is lustration, and how to conduct it in Transcarpathia

On Thursday, March 13 at 14.00, in Uzhgorod Press Club, there will be a roundtable on "Problems of lustration measures in the period of transition from dictatorship to democracy: the regional dimension."

They will talk about ways and means of public control over the government for the effective implementation of their powers in the interests of territorial and regional communities, including:

– mechanisms for ensuring accountability of officials and authorities;

– the legal nature of lustration and re-certification of public officials and a ban on the profession;

– ensuring real and effective mechanisms of consultation in decision-making and criteria for the formation of lustration institutions;

– public relations of authorities and legal basis for public lustration committee activity.
