The art plein air "Chorna Hora" with the participation of the famous artists from Ukraine and neighboring European countries – Slovakia, Poland, Hungary – has started in Transcarpathia. This was reported by the correspondent of the Ukrinform from the scene.
"The plein air of this level is being held in Transcarpathia for the first time. Artists from Ukraine and other neighboring European countries, in total 21 participants, have come here for a week. Another feature of the plein air is a broad geography. Here, we have representatives of all the country’s painting schools: Kyiv, Kharkiv, Lviv, Transarpathia. The third feature of the plein air is the age variety: the youngest participant – Andriy Chizhov from Lviv – is 23, and the oldest one – academician Volodymyr Mykyta – is 87 years old. One can say that this is a historical plein air – when three generations of artists work side by side", – the curator of the plein airist Ivan Bilan said.
Academician Volodymyr Mykyta, who was called the patriarch of the plein air, emphasized that very decent people had gathered in this unique place.
"I hope that this plein air will become traditional and will be held in this format in the following years," – the artist said.
Transcarpathian curator of the plein air Victor Mihovich added that the project’s goal is to establish contacts and share experiences among leading representatives of various painting schools of Ukraine, Hungary, Slovakia and Poland for further joint projects implementation.
The art plein air "Chorna Hora" will finish with a joint exhibition of the artists in Vynogradiv on September 16.
