Weightlifting Championships will be held in Uzhgorod

The Transcarpathian Regional Center is hosting the European Weightlifting Championship, which is held under the auspices of the World Weightlifting Federation (WKSF). Uzhgorod City Council also provided significant support for the competition.
The official opening of the championship was held today in the sports complex "Yunist", almost 150 participants from 12 European countries (Poland, Slovakia, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Belarus, etc.) came to the regional center of Transcarpathia. The best athletes of the Weightlifting Association of Ukraine will compete as well.
The Mayor of Uzhgorod Bohdan Andriyiv greeted the participants of the competition and wished them success. Also, the opening of the championship was attended by the president of the World Weightlifting Federation Oleg Ilika, the head of youth and sports department of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Vitaliy Erfan, the chairman of the Weightlifting Association of Ukraine Andriy Yaremus.
Uzhgorod City Council reports that the championship will last until October 20.
