Weddings in Transcarpathia: what do we know about the traditions, customs and rituals?

Recently in Uzhgorod College of Culture and Arts, they presented the book "From human source – a clean well." "Transcarpathian wedding: traditions, customs and rituals" was presented by the Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine, professor Yelizaveta Sivak, teacher, the head of the cyclic commission "Cultural and recreational activities and culturology" of Uzhgorod College of Culture and Arts, the manager of the folk choir "Tsyntoriya" of Uzhgorod District House of Culture. The presented book tells about the traditions, customs and rituals that were popular in our region during the XVIII-XX century.

The Director of the College of Culture and Arts Natalia Shetelya noted that the book is valuable for college students as they study subjects of "ethnology" and "cultural studies." At the presentation of the book, fourth year students of the folk department performed Transcarpathian wedding tunes, the folk vocal ensemble "Tsyntoriya" of the District House of Culture and the Folk Dance Ensemble "Rhythm" Essen House of Culture also performed.
